- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Fresh berries for topping
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Place one of the cake layers on a serving platter and spread a layer of whipped cream on top.
- Top with fresh berries, then place the second cake layer on top and cover with remaining whipped cream and berries.
