This easy Tres Leches Cake recipe is a moist and delicious Latin American dessert made with three types of milk – evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk. Topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit, this cake is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 5 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Fresh fruit for topping (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and mix until well combined.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the beaten egg whites into the batter until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, combine the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk in a mixing bowl.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and poke holes all over the top with a fork or skewer.
- Pour the milk mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in completely.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the cake to absorb the milk mixture.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the top of the chilled cake and top with fresh fruit if desired.
