TRES LECHES CAKE RECIPE EASY

Introduction:

This easy Tres Leches Cake recipe is a moist and delicious Latin American dessert made with three types of milk – evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk. Topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit, this cake is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz can evaporated milk
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruit for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  7. Fold the beaten egg whites into the batter until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake is baking, combine the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk in a mixing bowl.
  10. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and poke holes all over the top with a fork or skewer.
  11. Pour the milk mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in completely.
  12. Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the cake to absorb the milk mixture.
  13. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  14. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the chilled cake and top with fresh fruit if desired.
  15. Serve and enjoy!
