Preparation time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes | Serves: 12

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gently fold in the flour mixture, alternating with the cup of milk, until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream in a bowl. Once the cake is done, pierce it all over with a fork and pour the milk mixture over the top. Let it soak in for at least 30 minutes.
  7. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!
