DEVIL’S FOOD CAKE RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract, and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

  5. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
